Hotspots
Hotspot Checkout Policy
Hotspot devices allow you to connect your enabled devices (laptops, tablets smartphones…) to the internet. The hotspot is portable so you can connect your device anywhere that has a Verizon cell phone signal. Hot Spot devices may only be used in the continental United States.
Hotspots are available for checkout at all our branch libraries. Each device has a usage limit of 1000 MB of data per day and are filtered to comply with the Children’s Internet Protection Act.
Hotspots may be checked out by adults 18+ with valid Lonesome Pine Regional Library card and current government issued photo ID. Card must have less than $25 in outstanding fines/fees or acceptable payment plan in place.
Hotspots are checked out for 14 days and cannot be renewed. Checkouts are limited to one device per household. Hotspots cannot be returned in the book drop and must be returned to the branch where it was checked out.
Hotspots are checked out in a case that includes the hotspot and a charger. Patron are responsible for costs associated with loss or damage of the hotspots and/or chargers and cases. The overdue fines for a hotspot is $1 per day not to exceed the cost of the device.
The wireless service on the hotspot will be turned off and will no longer work if the hotspot is not returned on the due date.
If individual parts of the kit are lost or damaged, the following replacement costs will be the responsibility of the borrower.
Hotspot device replacement fee: $100
Charger: $10
Case: $10
If the hotspot kit is lost or damaged, please contact the location where you checked it out immediately.
